999 shock call outside A&E

A woman who took a seizure in a bus stop at Raigmore Hospital had to wait for an ambulance – rather than receiving treatment immediately from medics working yards away in the accident and emergency unit.

An NHS employee who dashed to seek help for the woman was stunned to learn of the hospital policy, which has also been slammed by a North MSP.

    It’s amazing how many times we see stories like this one, from all over the UK.

    I was once called to take a convulsing mail from a hospital ward to the A&E unit 200m away.

    We ran from over 3 miles away on blue lights because hospital staff, including 2 doctors, were ‘not allowed’ to push a trolley bed outside the ward and the porters were not happy about the patient’s condition.

    It’s a mad world!
