Lessons learned from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and most recently Ike, prompted a need for quality, cost effective and resilient evacuation capabilities. With the recent success at the Texas Homeland Security and Disaster Response and Recovery Expo, First Line Technology will be exhibiting the AmbuBus – Bus Stretcher Conversion Kits – at the Long Island/NYC Emergency Management Conference in Melville, NY on May 27 and 28. The AmbuBus is a retrofit kit that enables vehicles of opportunity such as school or transit buses to be temporally converted into a mass casualty transport vehicle. The AmbuBus is currently being utilized statewide by Georgia and Alabama to enhance their special needs evacuation capabilities during hurricane evacuations and pandemic preparedness.
