What utter bollocks!
12 hours is a long time to go without food, crews get a 30 minute (YES 30) meal break during a shift.
What happens should a hypoglycaemic ambulance driver kill a pedestrian because his/her ability to drive has been impared by lack of food?

The thirty minute break is not the fault here…The lack of ambulance coverage is. This
is obviously a universal problem. In Toronto a meal break is not the time to call an ambulance. We often go from one end of the city to the other to cover breaks–if, of course, we had ours.
