Man charged over stolen 999 rapid response car in Essex

A man has been charged after being stopped by police while driving a vehicle stolen from the East of England Ambulance Service.

Police were contacted in the early hours of New Year’s Day after reports a rapid response car had been stolen from Valley Road, Clacton in Essex.

The Honda Accord’s tracker was activated and police pursued it on the southbound carriageway of the A12.

Paramedics’ drugs stolen from ambulance as they attended 999 call

Paramedics who attended to a 999 call had their bag containing hospital drugs stolen from their ambulance.

The ambulance workers responded to an emergency call in South Lanarkshire on Boxing Day when the thief struck.They were called to a property in Logan Street, Blantyre, at around 1pm. When they returned to their vehicle, the paramedic response bag was missing.

Strathclyde Police are appealing for information after the bag was handed into Blantyre Police Office by a member of the public who had found it in a garden in the town’s Anford Place nearby the following morning.

Callous metal thieves target ambulances

Heartless thieves put lives at risk by stripping three private ambulances of their catalytic converters and exhausts.

Staff from 1st Response Medical Services Ltd and ABC Medical Services, who work in partnership, discovered the parts had been stolen last week when routine checks were carried out on the vehicles at their offices in Cutbush Lane, near Shinfield.

US: Boy allegedly steals from ambulance as mom treated

A boy was arrested over the weekend on charges of stealing from an ambulance while paramedics were treating his mother.

The Johnson City Press reported the boy, who was not named because he is a juvenile, was charged with stealing $5,000 in medical supplies. That includes an oxygen tank and an oxygen sensor machine.

Entonox stolen from ambulance site

Thrill-seeking thieves are thought to be behind the theft of 15 cylinders of anaesthetic gas from Haverhill Ambulance Station.

A padlock was cut on the gates to a storage area at the Camps Road station and the stash of 2ft long cylinders of entinox (sic) – more commonly referred to as gas and air – were stolen between 8.30pm on Sunday, and 2.40am the next morning.

Ambulance ransacked by thieves looking for drugs

Paramedics fear ambulances are being targeted by drug addicts after a 999 vehicle on an emergency call was ransacked and so badly damaged it was put out of action.

A crew tending to a seriously ill patient at a house in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, were shocked to find that while they were inside, their vehicle had been smashed up, equipment wrecked, and personal belongings stolen.

Defibrillator machine stolen

Police are seeking thieves who stole a £6,000 defibrillator machine from an ambulance in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

The machine was taken along with other resuscitation kit, equipment used to treat diabetes, jackets and helmets.

Keys stolen in ambulance station break-in

Burglars ransacked an ambulance station — while paramedics were out responding to 999 calls.

The men stole keys to a new £100,000 ambulance and keys to two other vehicles, smashed a payphone and then made off in a staff member’s car.

US: Man ‘drove into pedestrian, tried to steal ambulance’

Police say a man attempted to steal an ambulance and assaulted an emergency worker shortly after hitting a pedestrian with his car.

Albert Jermaine White, 19, of Morgan Trail, Virginia Beach is charged with abduction, felony assault of an Emergency Medical Technician, simple assault, attempted grand larceny, and possession of marijuana.

More charges are pending against White. He is being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center, police spokesman Adam Bernstein said.

He said on Monday at 4:40 p.m., police and emergency medical service personnel were called to the scene of a hit-and-run crash. Callers said a vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene on Old Donation Parkway.

Air ambulance man guilty of child porn and morphine theft

An air ambulance paramedic was caught with indecent images of children on his computer then tried to commit suicide, a court heard.

Raymond Taylor, 36, of Beecham Road, West Reading, who was working for Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance at the time, was arrested by police in January when they found 450 images and videos of children being abused.
